Narrative Description
Officials with the Arkansas State Police confirmed that a trooper has been terminated following an incident during a pursuit on Interstate 630 in Little Rock.
According to ASP, the trooper — who had been hired in October 2024 and was still in a probationary period — was pursuing a suspect vehicle reported traveling at high speed eastbound on I-630. After briefly losing sight of the suspect, the trooper performed a tactical vehicle intervention on a white SUV exiting the interstate, believing it to be the fleeing vehicle.
Authorities later determined the SUV was not involved in the pursuit. The driver was ordered out of the vehicle at gunpoint before the trooper realized the mistake. ASP officials stated that no one was injured during the incident.
State police leadership later announced the trooper’s termination, citing the seriousness of the error and public safety concerns.
